Christine L. Villa

Children's Book Author and Publisher

A Filipino-American resident of North Highlands, CA, Christine L. Villa is the founder of Purple Cotton Candy Arts, a fast-growing business that publishes children’s books. She has written and published ten children’s book titles since 2014, three of which won awards in the Northern California Publishers and Authors Book Award Competitions of 2018, 2019, and 2020. Three of these titles are now available in bilingual editions (English and Filipino). She also offers publishing services such as editing, proofreading, rewriting, formatting, book trailers, and publication.

As a gifted poet, Ms. Villa’s poetry have appeared in many online and print journals worldwide and have garnered her several awards. In 2016, she published her debut full-length collection of Japanese short-form poetry, The Bluebird’s Cry. She is the founding editor of Frameless Sky (the very first haiku and tanka journal that offers collaborations of art, poetry, and music, available on DVD and private online viewing) and of Velvet Dusk Publishing (a small printing press that publishes Japanese short-form poetry, cherita, and mixed-genre full-length books, chapbooks, and ebooks.

Ms. Villa is also a children’s book writer, publisher, speaker, and artist who dabbles in alcohol ink painting, doodling, and photography.
